CBD08 stands for "Can Bus Distribition" with 8 connections - what is this module needed for?
Can Bus connections in the vehicle are sometimes a great challenge for our customers. First of all, the Can Bus cables have to be laid and connected as elegantly as possible. The devices usually also require power supply and the Can Bus termination must also be attached somehow.
In addition, there are more and more often several Can Buses for different requirements - powertrain Can Bus, comfort Can Bus, one for programming (USB2CAN), etc.
CANchecked now offers a small add-on module that provides 8 ports with four connections each: Can High/Low, 12V, Ground.
The box can optionally be equipped with a 12V/ground lead. This can then be tapped from the other sockets and thus supply the end devices. However, the connected devices with a higher power consumption should not be supplied via the device. Therefore, connect them only with both Can Bus lines and establish a separate power supply.
If you decide to use the standard configuration, then all 8 Can Bus connectors are connected to each other.
Features:
- 8 interfaces
- Configurable with jumpers, whether 2 CAN buses with 4 ports each or one CAN bus with 8 ports
- Each CAN bus can be terminated with jumper, should this be necessary
- Plug connection with Deutsch DTM06-4S (also available here in the store)
- Each connector has CAN high, CAN low, 12V and ground. So most CAN devices like EGT to CAN etc. can be connected directly without own power supply.
