Course: Premium wiring harness basics (individual)
In this course, we will teach you in person at our premises how to build premium cable harnesses:
1. planning a wire harness
- Production of a mock-up
- Transferring the sample into a schematic drawing with dimensions using MS Excel as an example
- Planning and documentation of connector assignments, splices etc. using MS Excel as an example
- Correct definition of the earthing point to minimise susceptibility to interference
- Selection of suitable cable cross-sections incl. rough calculation
- Selection of suitable cables for each application including practical examples
- Selection of suitable sheathing for the cable harness, e.g. shrink tubing, braided sleeving, etc.
2. technical basics
- Suitable crimping tool incl. practical exercise
- Preparation of splices for the distribution of e.g. 12V, 5V, ground etc.
- Shrinking DR-25 heat-shrink tubing, making branches, termination on the connector
3. basics Deutsch Autosport connector
- General information
- Selection of suitable connectors
- Pinning autosport connectors (the connector can then be kept)
- Basics and production of service loops
4. basics of CAN bus wiring
- Structure of CAN topology
- Application examples (e.g. MaxxECU to PDM or Dash)
- CAN speeds
- Structure of a CAN message
The course lasts approx. 8 to 9 hours including a lunch break. All self-made results from the learning modules may be kept.
You are welcome to bring your own tools so that we can assess their suitability for the project in question.
Special requests for content are welcome in advance and can be included in the course content by arrangement.
The courses take place near Düsseldorf by individual arrangement. Both weekdays and Saturdays are possible.
